The Best Eye Primers: Keep your Eye Shadow On
Many people wonder if they actually need an eye primer.. Does it really make a difference?
The answer is yes, without a doubt! Using an eye primer before you apply your eye shadow reaps lots of benefits. Primers help to hide discolorations and intensify the eye shadow color (something really important for those of us who complain that their eye shadow doesn’t show up). Primers also act like a base to ensure your eye shadow lasts all day long without smudging. Some of them even tend to absorb oil (essential for those with oily eyelids)!
Keep your eye makeup on with these favorites.
1. MAC Paint Pot
This stuff isn’t exactly an eye primer; it’s more of an all-in-one eye base. It’s a highly pigmented eye color that goes on creamy but dries to a matte finish. What I love most about this product in particular, is that it lasts forever. You literally need an almost invisible amount to evenly apply on your eyelids before you colour your eyes with some eye shadow. It also helps to even out your skin tone. So wear it alone for some sheen, or apply under an eye shadow to act as a base to the eye shadow and watch it intensify the colour you apply.
Comes in 13 shades.

Available at all Mac Retailers (Red Sea Mall, Mall of Arabia and Thalia Center) for 90sr
2. Urban Decay Primer Potion
Even though Urban Decay is not available in Jeddah this list would not be complete without mentioning its name. Used by many makeup professionals, you-tube gurus and makeup bloggers, this primer speaks for itself. It’s flawless!

3. Too Faced Eye shadow insurance
Although Too Faced is available here in Jeddah, it’s not as popular as it should be. This primer is impressive – not only is it very long lasting, it’s fade-proof and is so light, that it literally feels as though nothing’s there.

4. Benefit Lemon Aid
Benefit is youthful and so much fun! Their Lemon Aid is a soft, creamy yellow that hides discolorations on the eyelid. It makes the eyes look fresh and “awake” – not like you’ve worn any makeup on them. It dries to a matte finish. Scoop out a micro mini amount with a spatula and blend with your finger for best results.
